New Regulatory Updates to Create Thousands of Digital Accessibility Jobs
In a historic shift towards digital accessibility, recent updates to ADA Title II and Section 504 regulations now require that websites, web content, and mobile apps conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA, a technical standard for web accessibility. This requirement impacts state and local governments and healthcare providers across the United States, creating a significant demand for digital accessibility expertise.
“For organizations that can afford it, hiring an accessibility coordinator will be extremely helpful. Even those organizations with budget constraints will benefit from contracting with accessibility consultants,” said Kris Rivenburgh, founder of Accessible.org.
